A wind gust of 90 miles per hour was recorded overnight in Provincetown, according to the National Weather Service.

More than 26,300 Barnstable County customers were still without power at 7:15 p.m., for a total of over 44,800 customers without power in eastern Massachusetts, according to an Eversource power outage map. Falmouth had the most outages with over 5,700 at that time. On Martha’s Vineyard, about 800 customers didn’t have electricity.

Wind gusts of 78 miles and 72 miles per hour were reported in Mashpee and Harwich.

"The strongest winds have departed, but it’s still going to be very windy today," said National Weather Service meteorologist Hayden Frank.

The forecast is for wind gust of 40 to 60 miles per hour, Frank said. But "It won’t be like last night."

One of the biggest trouble spots was in the town of Falmouth, where downed trees lined busy roads including downtown.

Downed trees and power lines have pretty much blocked all access into Woods Hole, Falmouth Deputy Fire Chief Tim Smith said at noon.
